How to Select the Best Golf Resort: A Helpful Checklist
When you are getting ready to take a golf vacation and you start to look for potential destinations, you will soon find that there are an incredible number of wonderful golf resorts around the world to pick from. Golf resorts come in all shapes and sizes, and there are nearly countless options for you to evaluate as you decide which is going to be right for you.
There are two obvious factors to consider when working through this process – price and location. You need to make sure that you can afford the destination you are considering, and you need to make sure that it is in a location you will enjoy. Beyond that, however, there are a few other items that you can place on your checklist –
- How many courses? If you are only staying for a few days, a golf resort with two courses should work just fine. However, if you are going to be staying for a week or more, you might want to find a property that offers several courses so you can have a variety of experiences throughout your stay. Even if the resort your are staying at only has a couple courses, you can also consider playing other courses in the nearby area to expand the experiences you get to have.
- What other facilities are on site? Most people will agree that the less time you can spend driving around once you reach your destination, the better. Staying at a resort with plenty of amenities means you don’t have to get in the car every time you want to do something. Whether it is dining options, entertainment choices, or whatever else, give strong consideration to properties that offer a wide range of amenities.
- What kind of lodging? Different golf resorts will offer different types of lodging for you to consider. Some are five-star, luxurious properties with rooms that are well-appointed and carefully decorated. Others are more basic, focused just on offering a clean room and comfortable bed. There is nothing wrong with either option, just make sure you find what you are looking for. Some travelers enjoy being pampered in a luxury suite, while others prefer to stick to the basics. Seek out the golf resort that is going to best match your needs and tastes so you can enjoy a memorable trip both on and off the course.
